Efficient palletizing for Natura:
with cv.PAL from cellumation

For end customer Natura, integrator Torfresma implemented a powerful and compact palletizing system based on cv.PAL from cellumation. The goal was to palletize closed cardboard packaging efficiently, flexibly, and in a space-saving manner. The challenge was to handle changing layer patterns at high cycle rates, in a limited space, and with variable weight distribution inside the cartons.

Challenge at Natura

Efficient layer formation for precise palletizing

Layer formation is a crucial process step in modern intralogistics and forms the basis for precise and stable palletizing. Before a new pallet layer can be placed, the loose packages must first be transferred to a stacking and compaction unit. This unit arranges the individual packages into a compact and transportable layer.

Only after successful layer formation can the finished layer be reliably transferred to a robot arm, which then takes over the task of precisely stacking multiple layers on a pallet. This automated process ensures high packing density, optimum stability, and maximum efficiency in internal material flow.

The solution

Automated layer formation in the palletizing process

In this specific application, the cv.PAL takes over layer formation in the palletizing process.

During the conveying process, the objects first reach the celluveyor, where they are detected by an integrated vision system and precisely positioned according to the layer pattern. The finished layer is then transferred to a compaction station, compacted, and finally stacked on top of each other by a robot arm.

The cv.PAL is fully electric, requires no pneumatics, and operates almost silently, ideal for modern production environments with a focus on energy efficiency and low maintenance. Its safe design allows installation without fencing and enables seamless integration into almost any work environment.
