Rotation Unit cv.GO Enables
Flexible End-of-Line Palletizing in the Packaging Industry

Maximum flexibility in a minimum of space – with cellumation’s cv.GO, ETT Verpackungstechnik is setting new standards in automated palletizing. Whether frequently changing products, varying packaging formats, or complex layer patterns, the cv.GO positions trays in the optimal orientation for the downstream palletizing process. The modular technology enables quick format changes, easy alignment, and space-saving integration.

Challenge at ETT Verpackungstechnik

Flexible Palletizing Solutions for Complex Packaging Requirements

In modern packaging technology, companies like ETT Verpackungstechnik face the challenge of implementing a fully automated end-of-line solution – from packing and sealing to flexible palletizing. Especially with frequently changing products and packaging formats, conventional systems quickly reach their limits. Long changeover times and rigid palletizing systems slow down efficiency and increase downtime.

ETT sought a solution that would allow flexible palletizing schemes to be configured,

with lidded trays rotated as needed so the palletizing robot can automatically adapt to changing pallet formats or layer patterns.

Another key aspect was to fit the functionality into a limited space. The goal: a compact packaging line ensuring maximum availability and technological robustness.
The decision fell on cellumation’s cv.GO because the technology not only offers maximum flexibility in palletizing but also short transport paths, automated format changes, and quick, reliable carton alignment.

The Solution: celluveyor GO

Simply Rotated and Automatically Palletized

“[…] easy to design into a project, easy to integrate into our construction, easy to program, easy to maintain […]” is how Jochen Seidler, one of ETT’s managing directors, describes the cv.GO.
The compact, modular design of the cv.GO can be seamlessly integrated into existing layouts without limiting space planning.

The individual control of the omniwheels allows movement and rotation of goods in the smallest of spaces – a unique feature in this form. Functions such as corner-/curve-transfers, or 90°/180°/360° rotations can be realized in a single compact module, much more efficiently and space-saving than with alternative solutions, which require additional safety zones and cause higher operating costs.

The cv.GO is a fully electric (48 VDC) and modular system that is particularly robust, exhibits minimal mechanical wear, and requires only a few spare parts. Thanks to its low-maintenance design, downtime can be reduced to a minimum.

ETT: Integrator

ETT Verpackungstechnik is an internationally active manufacturer of end-of-line packaging machines and offers customized solutions for a wide range of industries. What began in 1984 in a small garage with three founders is now a successful medium-sized company with around 250 employees at four locations. At the headquarters in Fredelsloh, complete packaging lines are planned, designed, built, commissioned, and serviced – all from a single source. ETT stands for flexible, high-performance, and high-quality solutions precisely tailored to the global packaging requirements of its customers.

cellumation: Provider

cellumation is an innovation driver in the field of material flow technology and is known for its advanced solutions for the automation of logistics processes. The patented celluveyor technology developed there enables complex material flow movements in the smallest of spaces at high speeds. Thanks to its modular design, the celluveyor has unlimited layout flexibility, is easy to maintain and quick to set up.

“It already starts during project planning when the sales team creates the first layout for the customer. In construction, the module can be integrated without any issues. Assembly and commissioning are also designed to run smoothly. Even the programming impressed me – I once watched our programmers and thought: with so many different rollers, it must be complicated. But in fact, it’s surprisingly easy. And during on-site setup and ramp-up at the customer’s facility, it becomes clear: our central keyword is definitely ‘simplicity.’”

THE SPECIAL FEATURE

Two Functions – One Module

Immediately after lidding the trays, an automatic quality inspection takes place as they exit the packaging machine: if a tray is identified as defective – for example, due to inadequately glued flaps – it can be immediately ejected via the cv.GO’s 90-degree discharge function. This reduces the error rate in palletizing.
In the same module (without retooling or additional equipment), properly lidded trays can be automatically rotated into the optimal orientation for the downstream palletizing process. This functionality not only reduces the space requirement but also increases process speed and operational safety.

Conclusion

Simple, compact, flexible, efficient

The cv.GO from cellumation provides ETT Verpackungstechnik with the ideal solution for flexible, space-saving, and simple tray alignment in end-of-line automation. This technology enables complex packaging requirements to be implemented efficiently, reliably, and with future-proof performance, while ensuring easy operation and maximum availability.

cv.GO behind a packaging machine

100% Electric
The celluveyor operates entirely electrically (48 VDC power supply) and requires no hydraulic or pneumatic components. This keeps the technical complexity to a minimum and ensures reliable, low-maintenance operation.

Flexible Layer Formation
The cv.GO aligns trays optimally for the downstream palletizing process, enabling the implementation of flexible palletizing patterns.

Space-Saving
The individual control of the omniwheels allows goods to be moved and rotated in the smallest of spaces. The compact design of the celluveyor reduces the required footprint and optimizes space utilization. Long conveyor paths are eliminated.

No Changeover Times
No changeover times are required between different products, layers, or pallet formats

Intuitive User Interface (GUI)
The cv.GO app allows easy parameterization of movements as well as the creation, storage, and retrieval of motion profiles.

Multi-Functional
With the cv.GO, movements such as rotations and corner transfers can be flexibly combined.

Quiet and Safe
The system operates at a noise level below 70 dB(A) and requires no additional safety enclosure.

Low Installation Effort
The cv.GO is delivered fully assembled and can be easily integrated into existing standard conveyor systems – either via mounting brackets or a base frame.

Easy Maintenance
The celluveyor technology is a low-maintenance system with minimal downtime for servicing. The range of spare parts is extremely small – only omniwheels, belts, or, if necessary, the complete cell are required.
