Bremen, May 29, 2026
Bremen/Boston, May 29, 2026 – A major honor for Bremen-based robotics company cellumation: The company was presented with the prestigious RBR50 Robotics Innovation Award 2026 in Boston. Each year, The Robot Report uses this award to recognize the world’s most innovative companies, technologies, and applications in the robotics industry. This year’s winners include global technology leaders such as Amazon Robotics, AutoStore, Boston Dynamics, Google DeepMind, NVIDIA, and KUKA.
cellumation was honored for its cv.PAL system, which replaces rigid conveyor technology with flexible, software-defined robotics. The technology is based on the patented “celluveyor” principle: modular, hexagonal robotic cells with omnidirectional rollers that can intelligently and highly flexibly move, align, and form material flows.
In its official statement, The Robot Report highlights that cv.PAL redefines material flows through “flexible, intelligent, and scalable automation.” Particular emphasis is placed on software-defined layer formation without mechanical retooling, integrated 3D image recognition, and the ability to process a wide variety of product formats dynamically and without downtime.
“From the very beginning, we wanted to challenge the way goods are moved in industry and logistics,” explains Claudio Uriarte, CTO and co-founder of cellumation. “Traditionally, complex material flow solutions rely on heavy-duty mechanics. With the cv.PAL, we’ve replaced that approach with intelligent software. The fact that we’re now
being recognized for this alongside companies like Amazon, AutoStore, and Boston Dynamics is a strong signal that software-defined robotics is shaping the future of intralogistics.”
The award ceremony took place during the Robotics Summit & Expo in Boston – one of North America’s most significant robotics events. For cellumation the award also marks an important milestone in the company’s international expansion, particularly in the
U.S. market. “Winning the RBR50 Award is a tremendous recognition of the achievements of our entire team in Bremen,” adds Uriarte. “This award demonstrates that innovations from Germany can set global standards,” says CEO and co-founder Dr. Hendrik Thamer.
