cellumation continues its global expansion. In order to grow further in the Asian market, the specialist for automated materials handling technology is entering into a strategic partnership with the Melchers Group. The Bremen-based group of companies specializes in opening up international markets and has already been active in Asia for over 150 years.

With its network of more than 50 subsidiaries, the Melchers Group covers the entire value chain – from production, distribution and trade to marketing and aftersales. The owner-managed partnership has been operating in the Asian market since 1866 and supports B2B companies in establishing themselves in Asia. The conveyor technology manufacturer cellumation, also based in Bremen, is now to benefit from this know-how. “With the help of our market expertise, cellumation will also make a name for itself far beyond Europe. At the same time, we are strengthening our network with an innovation driver that will revolutionize logistics,” says Nicolas C. S. Helms, Managing Director of the Melchers Group.

cellumation invented the celluveyor, a hexagonal robotic cell that can be used to assemble any layout for a wide variety of conveying tasks. Whether it is used for sorting parcels or depalletizing, the technology reduces the space and personnel requirements in distribution centers and microhubs to a minimum. In this way, the celluveyor makes a significant contribution to overcoming the shortage of skilled workers and the shortage of space in logistics. Such solutions are particularly in demand in industrially highly developed but space- and personnel-constrained nations such as Singapore or South Korea. “In the future, every package will touch a celluveyor cell. To drive this vision forward, we have found the perfect partner in the Melchers Group. Its outstanding market knowledge makes Melchers the door opener for Asia,” says Dr. Hendrik Thamer, Managing Director of cellumation.

Profile

cellumation develops and builds intelligent modular technologies for automated material flow on a very small footprint. The principle is simple: a hexagonal component the cell is brought to life by intelligent software. The cells can be assembled into any layout, handle complex conveying tasks and transport different goods without changeover times.

The goal is set: In the future, every package delivered worldwide should have touched a cellumation cell. To achieve this goal, 60 employees work, develop, grow and produce hand-in-hand at the Bremen site.
