The Challenge
If material flows are to be merged, then conveyor systems are needed that supply objects in the right sequence, the right orientation and at the right speed. Examples here include feeding of pocket conveyor systems, tilt tray sortation systems and automated storage systems. If the supplying system feeds imprecisely or inaccurately, then this leads to breakdowns and failures in the receiving system. For this reason, this process step is still often carried out manually.
